Meru was the home of “Elsa” the lioness made famous by Joy and George Adamson. Herds of eland, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, elephant, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, grant’s gazelle, the elusive lesser kudu and ofcourse the predators, lion ,leopard, cheetah and hyena roam the park. Meru, due to its location has had very few visitors and you can enjoy pristine wilderness practically on your own.

At an altitude of 1,500ft. its warm, but with minimum humidity and very comfortable. Each of the eight rooms is a cottage made of natural materials, blending into the hillside. The rooms are open to a verandah, so you can look out onto the view from your bed. The camp offers unforgettable “bush’ food and even has a swimming pool for cooling off on hot days.
