Resident hippos abandon their river sanctuary after sundown to graze between the river accommodation guest suites which are positioned on raised wooden decks with protective railings to insure the safety of our guests at all times. Our riverfront accommodation guest suite facilities include: hand carved super size king or double beds, double vanity sinks, carved desks, dining sets, en suite bathrooms with flush toilets, bidets, and showers, electronic safe deposit boxes and lounge areas. Wifi internet connectivity is available in all guest riverfront suites (and at the dining lounge area) so that guests with iphones, android smart phones, or PC/MAC laptops may enjoy complimentary internet access from the comfort of their riverfront room. All camp facilities enjoy electric and hot water service. Artificial water pressure is provided in the camp by a booster pump. All camp water is pumped up from our borehole 182 feet below ground and tested periodically for quality and cleanliness.

Rise early and go on a walking safari or dawn game drive, returning to the camp in time for breakfast. Or if you on a safari game drive with your own driver-guide exploring the Masai Mara National Reserve – perhaps to the Mara River or the Musiara Marsh on half day with picnic breakfast. Return to the camp in time for lunch, followed by a rest in the shaded tent or relax on the veranda of your tent, watching the game go by. One can choose to go on an afternoon game drive returning to camp in time for a shower, followed by a sundowner round the campfire, exchanging stories of the day with the other guests. Dinner by candlelight completes the day, after which an askari will guide you to your tent. Begin with an early morning wakeup call and a steaming cup of coffee. Typically the client will get an adrenaline rush with a hot air balloon ride cutting through the cool air of the plains as herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra scatter in search of food below you. Upon landing- you are treated to a breakfast and your guide will then take you either back to the camp for a well deserved nap or continue on a game drive. Return for lunch and an afternoon nap. Later go out for an evening game drive retuning to camp for a hearty dinner and cold beer.

The main activities of our guests are game drives in one of the best wildlife areas in the world. Our custom-built 4×4 game drive vehicles (“game viewers”) are designed to offer you unobstructed panoramic views. Every guest gets a window seat. Our specially trained, experienced and multilingual safari guides will ensure that each and every game drive will be an unforgettable safari to Masai Mara. During the annual migration of over one million wildebeest from the Serengeti to the Mara, visitors can enjoy one of the world’s most stunning wilderness events including the most exciting Mara River crossings. That said the Masai Mara is an all-year-round destination – offering regular sightings of the Big Five members (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, rhino) a big variety of plains game and birds – not to forget the stunning landscape consisting primarily grassland (making game viewing easy) and riverine forest with clumps of the distinctive Acacia trees. Our guests can enjoy early morning game drives, afternoon game drives or full day game drives within the Mara Triangle or on request the Mara North Conservancy (additional park fees to be paid). Nalepo Lodge is specialized in tailoring game drives to suit every guests need. The early morning game drives start just before sunrise, with a cup of hot Kenyan tea or coffee. As the sun rises, we are out on the savannah, enjoying the chilly air, the calm atmosphere and amazing wildlife viewing. Early morning hours is hunting time for many predators. Its also very likely to see them feeding on their prey. Breakfast can be enjoyed back at the camp or taken as bush breakfast out in the savannah. Afternoon game drives start after a delicious lunch and some relaxed time at the camp in the late afternoon and one returns to camp just before the darkness falls upon the Masai Mara. Full day game drives start just after the breakfast and guest can enjoy the stunning wildlife until the late afternoon. We provide a delicious picnic lunch with chilled drinks that can be eaten out in the bush – watching crocodiles and hippos by the hippo pool. On request we provide also bush breakfast for guests who wish an even longer game drive experience.
